Meet Sharonlee Parsons — The Heart Behind Yorkie Acres
My love for dogs has been a lifelong passion, but my journey with Yorkshire Terriers began with one very special Christmas gift.
As a retired Tool & Diemaker Journeyman of Ford Motor Company, I was ready to begin a new chapter in life. Having always admired the Yorkshire Terrier breed, I decided to surprise my husband, Jim, with a beautiful little Yorkie named Dis-ee for Christmas. Little did I know that this tiny bundle of love would bring so much joy, laughter, and purpose into our lives!
I quickly fell head over heels for Dis-ee’s beauty, affectionate personality, and larger-than-life spirit. She filled my heart and my days in ways I never imagined. With more than 50 years of experience loving and caring for dogs, along with previous experience breeding Boxers, I felt inspired to turn my passion into something truly special. And so, Yorkie Acres was born!
Today, our Yorkie family has grown to include seven males and nine females, each with their own unique personality and a very special place in our hearts. Our dogs are not simply pets or part of a breeding program — they are cherished members of our family.
At Yorkie Acres, my goal is to raise healthy, happy, well-loved Yorkshire Terriers who will bring the same unconditional love and companionship to other families that ours have brought to us. Our dogs receive veterinary care, including vaccinations, through Animal Heritage Hospital.
I am especially grateful for the wonderful people who have supported me along this journey. My husband of more than 40 years, Jim, a retired Army veteran who served as a dog scout in Vietnam, shares his knowledge and experience by helping with training and caring for our Yorkies. I am also thankful to John Curl for his guidance on genetic testing and to Joann Smallwood for her invaluable mentorship and encouragement as I continue learning and growing as a breeder.
Their support, knowledge, and friendship mean more to me than words can express.
Yorkie Acres is more than a breeding program. It’s a labor of love, built on family, dedication, and the belief that every dog deserves a lifetime of love.

Meet Dis-ee Toots Coca, our sweet 4-pound Yorkshire Terrier and the little lady who started it all! Affectionately known as the “mother hen” of our Yorkie family, Dis-ee likes to keep everyone in line and is never shy about telling the others what to do. Beneath her take-charge personality is an incredibly lovable girl who adores both Mommy and Daddy. Dis-ee holds a special place in our hearts—not only for her big personality and endless affection, but because she inspired the beginning of Yorkie Acres. Small in size, full of love, and forever the heart of our story! 💕

Mr. Roscoe Rocket
Meet Mr. Roscoe Rocket, our handsome 7-pound traditional Yorkshire Terrier with a big personality and an even bigger heart! Roscoe is our confident alpha male, a natural leader who likes to keep an eye on his Yorkie family. Beneath that strong, self-assured personality is an incredibly loving and loyal companion who brings so much joy to our home. Confident, devoted, and full of love, Roscoe Rocket is one very special little gentleman! 💕
Sharonlee’s Little Niblett
Meet Niblett, our handsome 4.2-pound traditional Yorkshire Terrier with a heart as big as his personality! Mild-mannered and affectionate, Niblett gets along wonderfully with the other Yorkies but also appreciates a little quiet time to himself. He loves belly rubs, watches over his pack with a protective spirit, and has a special feature that makes everyone smile—his adorable mustache! Dad affectionately calls him “Yosemite Sam,” and the nickname couldn’t be more fitting. Sweet, loyal, and full of character, Niblett is a treasured member of our Yorkie Acres family. 💕

Lady Jade (Jade)
Lady Jade, affectionately known as Jade, is a beautiful traditional Yorkshire Terrier charting to weigh approximately 5 pounds. Our sweet little Mommy’s Girl is incredibly loving, smart, gentle, and resilient, with an easygoing nature. She holds an extra-special place in my heart and is always ready to share her affection. Jade is also the official Yorkie Acres mascot and the adorable face behind our logo! Her irresistible charm represents the love, happiness, and family spirit of Yorkie Acres.

What can you expect from Yorkie Acres?
What will my puppy come home with?
Each puppy goes home with a puppy kit, a microchip, pedigree information, and available testing information. Tails are docked and dewclaws removed.
What veterinary care and health information are provided?
Puppies are veterinary checked, kept up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and go home with a health guarantee. They are checked for worms and treated if needed. Please contact us for the specific terms of our health guarantee and your puppy’s records.
When do puppies receive their first vaccination and go home?
Our puppies receive their first vaccination at approximately 7 weeks of age and are ready to go to their new homes at approximately 10 weeks of age.
How are your puppies raised?
Our puppies are raised and live inside our home as part of our family, surrounded by everyday love, attention, and care.
What experiences are puppies introduced to?
We introduce our puppies to pee-pad training, car rides, children, other dogs, cats, visitors, and gentle grooming as part of their early socialization. Every puppy progresses at their own pace.

Yorkie Acres is nestled on 16 beautiful acres in Petersburg, Michigan. Our Yorkies are lovingly raised in our home as part of the family, surrounded by the peaceful charm of country living.
